The International Foundation for Ethical Research (IFER) supports around 2 grad students for up to 3 years who will innovate with ethics and respect for animals. These fellowships support graduate students whose programs of study seem likely to have an impact in the development and implementation of scientifically valid alternatives to the use of animals in research, product testing, and education. Fellowships are renewable annually for up to three years. Fellows are expected to complete progress reports and will acknowledge the fellowship supports in any future publications or formal presentations.

Award: Stipend of $12,500 per year and $2,500 for supplies.

Eligibility: Must be enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program. Program of study should show the greatest potential to replace the use of animals in science. Copies of recent publications by the faculty sponsor and/or student applicant on topics related to the proposed research (if any). Bibliography. CV for faculty sponsor(s). A brief description of the institution and facilities available for this project. Indicate how you heard about this fellowship opportunity. A Pre-Proposal Application must be submitted by a faculty member. Pre-Proposal will include: Descriptive title. Current contact information. Faculty sponsor’s contact information. An abstract. A brief description of the proposed training program, including methods, progress, and a plan for dissemination of relevant knowledge. A brief description of the proposed project.

Citizenship: There are no citizenship requirements.
